The Allan Labor Government is upgrading more schools across Victoria – giving students in the state’s north the facilities they deserve and more reasons to celebrate today.

Member for Ripon Martha Haylett today attended Wedderburn College’s 160th Birthday Celebration and official opening of their new facilities.

In the Victorian Budget 2022/23, this school received $12.9 million for a series of building upgrades.

The funding was used to upgrade classrooms, the school’s science building and the school hall. Works were also carried out to the outdoor stairs, ramps, decking and landscaping.

Building schools is an investment in our kids' future and we have the largest school building program in the country - our $18.5 billion investment over 11 years has seen 123 new government schools funded and delivered more than 2,300 school upgrades.

These investments will ensure every child can get a great education and that our schools can cater for Victoria’s growing population.

Modern learning environments help develop creative thinking, promote STEM literacy, and inspire learning for life – critical skills for future success.

The Government is building the Education State so every student can access a great local school and a quality education no matter where they live.
