More families in Golden Plains now have greater access to kindergarten from one convenient location, thanks to the Allan Labor Government.
Minister for Children Lizzie Blandthorn officially opened new kindergarten facilities at Napoleons Primary School and Haddon Pre-School Centre this week. Member for Ripon Martha Haylett MP and representatives from Eureka Community Kindergarten Association (ECKA) also attended the openings for a tour of the brand-new facilities.
The Napoleons Primary School Kindergarten is conveniently located on the same site as the Primary School, making the transition easier for many children and the drop-off simpler for some parents. The centre has two classrooms, outdoor learning areas and play spaces. It provides an extra 118 kindergarten places in the local area.
The new facility at Napoleons Primary School is funded from the $371 million provided in the Victorian Budget 2019-20 to support the rollout of three-year-old-kindergarten.
The new project at Haddon Pre-School Centre includes two new kindergarten rooms and will provide a net increase of up to 50 kindergarten places.
Haddon Pre-School Centre is funded as part of the Building Blocks Partnership between the Allan Labor Government and Golden Plains Shire Council.
The Government has invested $5 million to support 2 projects that will create up to 50 kinder places at Haddon Pre-School, and up to 90 more at Bannockburn Family Services Centre.
Billions of dollars are being invested to build and expand hundreds of kindergartens across the state, supporting the delivery of 15 hours of three-year-old kindergarten each week by 2029 and 30 hours of Pre-Prep each week by 2032.
Through our nation-leading $14 billion Best Start, Best Life reforms, the Government is transforming early childhood education to help children thrive, save families money, and support parents and carers to return to work or study if they choose.
