BETTER SCHOOL BUS CONNECTIONS TO BALLARAT SCHOOLS
Students in Ballarat’s growing suburbs of Miners Rest and Macarthur Park will benefit from new school bus connections to Mount Rowan Secondary College in 2025 thanks to the Allan Labor Government.
From the start of Term 1, students in these areas will have new school bus links added to Mount Rowan Secondary College whilst also continuing to have direct school bus access to Ballarat High School.
The new connections respond to changes in school enrolment zones in Ballarat where Miners Rest and Macarthur Park - previously zoned to Ballarat High School - are now zoned to Mount Rowan Secondary College.
In total four school special services will be altered. Route 11 will be extended to service Macarthur Park and terminate at Mount Rowan Secondary College instead of Ballarat High School.
Route 33 will be extended to service Macarthur Park and Mount Rowan Secondary College. This route will continue to service Ballarat High School and terminate at Ballarat Station.
Route 6 will be altered to originate at Mount Rowan Secondary College instead of Ballarat High School and will extend to Macarthur Park before terminating at Miners Rest.
Route 36 will be extended to service Mount Rowan Secondary College and Macarthur Park. This route will continue to originate at Ballarat High School and terminate at Miners Rest.
These improvements are part of a $25 million investment in the Victorian Budget 2022/23 to introduce, modify and extend school bus services across the state, initially focused on growth areas, which is already delivering better services for thousands of Victorian students.
Improving school bus services is part of Victoria’s Bus Plan. Since its launch in June 2021, Victoria’s Bus Plan has already improved bus services in more than half of the state’s 79 local government areas, adding more than 4,600 extra services each week across metro and regional Victoria.
